Swaddle dilemma...

Do I buy the bigger size of the swaddleme or do I ditch it?

I tried to wean her off of it, but she is just SO happy sleeping swaddled.  I'm scared that if I buy the bigger size, she will never stop sleeping swaddled.  She is definitely too big for her current swaddleme.  It's decision time and I am so torn.  ughhh.   wwyd?

  • We bought the bigger SwaddleMe. Around 4 months, DS started breaking out of it all the time so we thought it was time to de-swaddle. We did 1 arm out and then both arms. Both arms out was a disaster so we had to re-swaddle even though he kept breaking out of it. Then the 4 month wakeful hit so we decided to try the magic sleepsuit to transition to the crib from the RNP. It didn't seem to help so now we are back to swaddling. The weird thing is he doesn't try to break out of it anymore. We will probably still be swaddling when he goes to college.

I'm pretty sure we will be too.  She loves it, I sleep well, whatever.

  • Just buy the bigger size if she's happy with it.  I've never seen a swaddled college student, I swear!

  • Stick with it! There's no reason to fix what isn't broken. lol

  • i'm in the same boat...and just bought the large swaddleme today!  but today i also started trying to transition her out of it. I'm thinking it will go very very slowly so i'm going to keep swaddling at night and just un-swaddle one nap at a time until she's used to it.
  • What size do you need? I have some jack never used.

Large.  She has a small one now and is busting at the seams!    Do you have a large one?

Never mind, one is a small and one is "one size fits all". Sorry

  • We use A&A blankets so I don't need a bigger size, but I am trying to wean him off. If he's SUPER sleepy at night, he might go an hour without it but then he'll start getting his hands in his face. So now I've been doing one arm out for 3 days and it's going ok. Sometimes when he's just super fussy and I can't get him to sleep, I'll just do a full swaddle. I dunno if that's sending mixed signals... but since he's not rolling over in his sleep yet, I'm not that concerned...

  • We've never had luck with the swaddleme, but have always used the Miracle Blanket, and cant live without it. He's 16 pounds and very long, but they still are big enough to do the job. We tried Operation De-Swaddle and it was an utter failure. I am going to be swaddling forever! Perhaps not until college, but I can see that I'll have to unwrap him so he can go potty.

  • where did you ladies find the large swaddle me's? I can't find them anywhere and the small one isn't going to work much longer!

I did buy her a sleep sack and will try it when I'm off work for two weeks at christmas, but just in case it's a failure I want a larger swaddle me!
