1st Trimester

any else bleed for no reason...

For those of you that are pretty far along in pregnancy or may already have a child... did you bleed... not just spot... for what seemed like no reason, no explaination?  Someone reassure me that you go on to  have healthy babies!

With my first I spotted for 3 days, and that was it.

With this pregnancy, I'm 11 weeks... I have had mild spotting on and off since about 6 weeks.  As of the Friday after Thanksgiving, I've had steady spotting and today it was bright red bleeding, not just on the toilet paper.

I called the dr and they scheduled me to come in tomorrow for a check up but they keep telling me that based on my last sonogram everything looked great and that they don't fear it's a miscarriage.  I have no cramping which is a good sign, I still feel like the morning sickness is around...

I just don't understand why this is happening... and I get frustrated that everyone in the dr's office says this could be normal.  It happens in a lot of pregnancies. I guess I'm here because I want to hear from other pregnant women and not just nurses and receptionists who play gatekeeper to the dr and have to calm everyone down on the phone.

Re: any else bleed for no reason...

  • I had bleeding with DS on and off from about 6 weeks, to about 14 weeks.  It turned out that I have a polyp on my uterus.  I've heard of lots of ladies having bleeding for no explainable reason though.  Good luck and hang in there!

  • In my first pg, I had brown spotting at 7 weeks and then heavy period like blood at 8 weeks. I went to the ER when the heavy bleeding happened because it was late on Friday. The ER told me to go home I was having a miscarriage and see my OB Monday. I went to the OB and they did an ultrasound and could see bleeding next to the baby but the baby was okay and my cervix was closed. He told me to be on modified bed rest for the rest of my 1st trimester because they couldn't figure out exactly what did it. I was able to go to work but had to be off my feet as much as possible and at home I was supposed to stay on the couch or bed.

Not everyone gets a happy story but I feel lucky everyday when my miscarriage kisses me, hugs me, and tells me she loves me. Try to relax, stay off your feet and relax. After what I went through I know that nothing anyone says will make you feel better until you see an ultrasound of a heartbeat and you make it farther along. Good Luck, many T&P with you!
