WDW- Stroller: to rent or bring?

I posted on Travel as well, but I am looking for opinions about whether to rent a stroller at WDW or bring our umbrella stroller.

Pros/Cons?

Thanks!

Re: WDW- Stroller: to rent or bring?

  • well i went to WDW in summer 09 with my 11month old and 7 year old and we rented the stoller at a few parks but brought our own for the others..a small umbrella stroller we brought..I went to Sesame Place this summer with my baby 4months and 22 month old and we brought our double stoller and it worked well too! I would say if you can afford the cost each day at WDW i would rather rent, but then you also have to think about if it's a busy day taking the time at getting the rental stroller. the days we went the lines were not long at all to rent them, so we didn't waste a lot of time. hope this helps.

  • That depends...

The DW strollers are big and maneuver well but are hard and uncomfortable and lack a lot of separate storage area. However if you only other option is an umbrella stroller then I would rent one.

When we had just DD#1 we loved to bring out bike trailer/ stroller with us because DD would nap in it well and it had ample storage, was comfy, and easy to steer.

  • I would just rent at WDW. They are sort of long so more like a lounge chair than a regular chair. I think it would be more comfy for a long day. Also, you park your stroller outside each ride and it's basically unattended. I'd rather my rental go missing than my real stroller full of my stuff.
  • We were just there this August and I brought my own stroller along with me, An umbrella stroller is just fine, I noticed when we were there you can rent theirs but I liked to save myself money and bringing my own was not a hassle.  My daughter pretty much fell asleep on the bus when we were heading back to the hotel and it was nice coming off the bus and putting her in her stroller and head to our room.  I depends on what you want to do?  Also it was a huge help when we were in the airport too!!  Have fun, I want to go back again so bad!!!!

  • We're taking DS to Disneyland in just a couple of days and we're planning on bringing our own stroller.  It's a little bigger than an umbrella stroller and lays down, so it'll work well for naps.  We're just going to park it when he's not interested in sitting in it and for when he goes on rides.  Also, we're not leaving anything in it, so if it happens to go missing, it's not that big of a deal.

I'm not sure about WDW, but Disneyland charges $15/day for stroller rental.  I'd rather save my money. Wink
