Does anyone here have a pillow for LO in their crib? Sometimes, DS gets stuffy from lying flat. Is a pillow safe? The only danger I can think of is if I give him one that's too firm, he might be able to use it to climb out of his crib.
My pedi said the AAP recommends no pillows until 2, though a lot of people don't follow that. If LO is stuffy, you might consider inclining his mattress. That might be more effective than a pillow since that gives a bigger elevated surface and he may move around a lot.
DD has had a pillow for a few months now although she doesn't usually lay her head on it. I put it in her crib b/c she always bunches her blanket up and uses it as pillow, but she doesn't realized that she can use the pillow for that purpose yet.

I gave my daughter one around 13 months. She loves pillows. She kept carrying them to her crib with her so I just decided to let her have one in there.
My doctor told me I could start using a pillow at G's 12 month appointment. I haven't yet, though.

Re: When are pillows safe?
my MD said ok after 1 year...
DD got a pillow about 15 months... has been in her toddler bed since 17 months... all is going great.
My son has been sleeping with a pillow since he was a few months old. It helped him sleep better propped up.
My DD's only had a pillow since she was about 16 months old.
I think it's fine whenever you choose.
We have these exact pillows in DS playroom!
DS has been sleeping with a pillow (his pillow pet) since he was one. He loves it and sleeps great with it.
