how many times a day do you typically pump? i'm assuming that if i make this transition, i'll still be pumping about 6-8 times a day (approx. every 3 hours or so).

I pump 8x/day, every 2-3hrs during the day and whenever my son wakes during the night.

for the first 12 weeks i pumped every 2-3 hours during the day and whenever dd woke up at night.

now that she is 4 months old, i'm pumping 6 times a day, trying to transition to 5 times a day but afraid of what it will do to my supply.

I'm a little different. While on maternity leave I pumped to build a freezer stash. I had about 300 ounces when I went back to work. When I started back I only BF her twice a day, when I got home and before bed. Since probably about 5 months I EP, she is just too distractable and I like to know exactly how much she is getting. My supply was already well established and I only pump 4x a day. Once at 6am, 10am, 3pm, 8pm. I get right around 25oz a day, sometimes only 20oz. I am rotating my freezer stash now so if I am short it is alright.

This is what I did. Then around 6.5 months, I cut back to 4 times a day. I'm producing about what LO drinks a day.
