Working Moms

Let's AW our kids

Here is mine - I am working on our Holiday card. My guys are so F-ING cute, I can't stand it. And they are so sweet and polite. Like, if I tell one of them their shirt is cool, they will say "Thanks, Mom. I really like your sweater!"

Azzie started daycare yesterday and charmed the pants off of her teachers. She's such a happy, smiley little girl.

  • I taught my 2.5 year old to hold the door open for mommy since I saw a 7 year old boy basically slam the door in his mom's face on their way into a convenience store one day.  The other day my DS got very upset that I went through the door before him. He takes his holding the door open for mommy job very, very seriously. It is really cute.

  • My girls have started giving hugs and kisses [when we ask them too]...even to each other...cutest.thing.ever. when we say "milina can you give ava a hug?" and she runs over all smiley and giggly and wraps her arms around her sister (who is also giggling like crazy)...makes up for the tears, smacks and pushes....

they are also getting better at using words to communicate (when they want to "go" and "eat") and all that they understand now is crazy!  you can ask them to get the ball/bunny/whatever and they know what you are talking about! lol...

  • I have 2:

    1. DD recently learned how to say "thank you" and she now says it at every opportunity. She says it when we give her something, and also when she gives us something. When she's done with her meal, and even when we kiss her. Such a polite girl, cutest thing ever.

    2. We just got back from Spain, with DD. Not only did she do great while there and on the plane, but she also picked up more Spanish and freely went around waving to people and saying "hola", then pointing to herself and saying "ni?a".

  • 1. I finally went to get my hair cut and highlighted.  My DD sees me for the first time and says "mommy I really like your hair" and when I said thank you, she bowed down and said "oh it's my pleasure".  She cracks me up.

  • My 3 yo DS is amazing.  He's the cutest little goof ball ever.  He has red hair and green eyes in our family of brunettes.  He is my miracle baby- 3 years ago, he was in the NICU, the docs said he will probably be bed-bound for life with cerebral palsy... if he even made it through the night.  Flash forward to now, he's 100% "normal,"  no signs of cerebral palsy.  Any and all issues from the birth trauma are gone, he's met all his milestones and is not delayed.  He's a happy healthy normal, AWESOME little guy- he beat the odds and proved them ALL wrong... he's my miracle baby.

My almost 5 yo DS is amazing as well.  He's so handsome- tall, dark, olive skin, girls at daycare already fight over him, he's a total heartbreaker.  They did a kindergarten readiness test and some of his academic skills were already performing at a 1st grade level... he is such a protector and loves me so much, total mama's boy.  He also enjoys his big bro role and takes care of his baby brother so well.  Now that he's old enough to "get" Christmas, he's so cute and totally enamoured with Santa, elves, etc...  he just started taekwondo classes and he's already brilliant, like he's been there for years!

  • DS has been so adorable lately. He's been saying so many sentences lately- telling us things, ect. He's starting to say colors- favorites are "lellow" and "gween" . So cute.

And he had his 2nd birthday party Saturday and loved his cake and ice cream. It was just adorable because he ignored his cake last year and this year just dug in! He ate the cake with a fork, and then picked up his ice cream ball and stuffed it in his mouth!

  • My DD came with us to a Japanese steakhouse the other day and was not only well-behaved but tried (& liked) most everything!

And, then we got a Christmas tree on Sunday and she did a dynamite job of helping me hang up ornaments and insisted on dancing to the Christmas songs between ornament hanging. god, I love her so much!!

  • My boys have some incredibly cute moments.  The older two routinely say, "mama, you make the best dinner ever!"  Even if it's mac and cheese.  And the random I love you's get me every time.  It's rubbing off on their younger brother too.

And my younger son is in to please and thank you.  He says "tank too mama" while I am wiping him during a diaper change. How lucky am I?  Wink

  • DH taught DD so say super genious after her name so now when anybody asks her what her name is she says "Ellie lastname super genious!"

  • Here is my AW:  I swear that my just-turned-2-year-old can write her name.  (well, kinda).  Consistently, if I ask her to write her name, she will spell it outloud (correctly) while writing this:

(it looks the same every time she does it)

Very intentional circle to start, and then attempts at an L, I's, etc.  Not perfect but pretty darn good for barely-2 if I do say so myself!  ;)

  • These are great!

DH and I were chatting in the car over the weekend, when from the back seat, DD starts screaming, "Jingle Bells," at the top of her lungs. It had been on the radio and we didn't even notice. We all joined in and started looking at the lights. A good reminder that quality time can happen when you least expect it!
