I'm trying to figure out what brand diapers I want to use for the baby so I can start buying some... It's between pampers or huggies. Which do you prefer?? Have you ever had any problems with a certain brand? I know it kinda just depends on the baby but i'm just curious
Re: Question for 2nd time moms!
In my experience, Huggies were a lot more leak-proof than Pampers... I am a Huggies mommy for as long as we keep having kids! The only time I had issues with Huggies was when it was time to move up to the next size. :-)
Honestly it just depends...
DD has always leaked from huggies but did great with pampers. She had a severe allergic reaction to dry-max so we started gdiapers but I still use pampers baby dry at night (no dry max). Kirkland tends to fit more like huggies.
Point is every baby fits diapers a little differently. I loved the feeling of swaddlers (so soft) but huggies pure and natural were similar just very $$$
We are Pampers during the day and Huggies Overnight people. DH hated the generics so I gave up on them.
I suggest getting a cheap subscriptiont to Parenting/Parent mag. They have 20% off diaper codes for Amazon, add the amazon mom price and I haven't been able to find diapers even close to a better price. Plus they deliver right to your door.

We use Pampers. I personally hate Huggies. DS leaks through them EVERY time.
We CD (mostly) but used Pampers at daycare...until they changed the inner lining and he started getting a rash. Now we prefer Huggies Little Movers and Huggies Overnights at night.
HTH.
This is what I would recommend. I would maybe have 2 packs of Pampers newborn swaddlers.
We went with Huggies b/c the newborn size has a bit more of a roomy cutout for the bb stub than the Pampers. We did try Pampers around 5 months when she had the "month of the blowout," but she blew out of those even worse than she did the Huggies.
Added bonus: Huggies are sold at Costco. W00t.
1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

I love Pampers diapers and huggies wipes. I hated Huggies diapers, they always leaked on dd.
We use Target Up&Up and have never had a problem.
We've also used Luvs which are great, but they have an odor to them that is a little off putting.
Pampers work better for boys over huggies, IMO. But I wouldn't waste the money on them since you're just going to throw them away, soiled.
We used Pampers Swaddlers until size 3 then moved to the Cruisers. DD did not react at all when they switched to DryMax so we'll probably use them again for baby #2 to start out with.
Buy two small packs of a few different brands and try them out and see what you think about fit and how they hold up to your LO's powerful liquid poops. We tried to use Huggies twice and DD blew through them in minutes - plus I didn't like how cheap they felt in general.
Besides, with coupons and sales and promotions - if you shop smart you can get Pampers for the price of the cheaper ones. For example, Babies R' Us will do a giftcard deal if you buy two cases - then you can use their coupon and a manufacturer's coupon in the same transaction. Score! Plus after 9 cases you get a coupon for the 10th free!
We switched to Huggies just because they were on sale at Costco, I wanted to give them a try... they also work great, no complains.
To my surprise, the Babies R us brand are also OK. I bought a few packs a couple of weeks ago when they were on sale, 82 diapers for only $10
Huggies didn't fit my son very well until now (he wears a size 4), so we were strictly a Pampers Swaddlers/Cruisers until size 3. Now I buy whatever is on sale.
I wouldn't stock up on too many. You never know what will work for your child or what size they will be when. If you do buy ahead, buy 2s and 3s.
