Parenting after a Loss

Tummy time ?

DD hates tummy time and I can only get 4 or 5 minutes out of her max and if we do it more than twice she cries as soon as she's turned over. (I'm talking more than twice all day)

To get more time out of her should I keep her on her belly even when she's crying? I mean I'm always laying on the floor next to her and trying to distract her.

I'm worried she's not getting enough because she has no interest in rolling. I mean she thinks sitting is fun and we're really working on that but she wont roll and I'm getting worried about that

Re: Tummy time ?

  • have you tried putting something under her? we used the boppy for a long time, and still do sometimes. I've also heard that a towel rolled up would work

for the past few weeks now, I can easily put him down on his tummy with a toy in his hands for about 15 minutes at a stretch while I fold laundry!

  • Hmm....did you have your 4mo appointment yet? Maybe ask your Pedi if you haven't had the appointment yet. Do you use a bumbo? I would think if you work on her neck strength in other ways that'd be good.
  • My LO hated tummy time too. I started using the Boppy to prop him up and he loved it.

Don't worry about her not rolling yet, 4 months is a little young. My nephew is 6 months old and showing NO interest at all!
