Most makers do their sizing so you just order your pre-pregnancy size.
Also, usually there is a sizing chart on maternity pages I've seen.
That said, I've been ordering a size up sometimes (if it's stuff I'll wear later in my pregnancy, season-wise) to account for the denial I've been in about what size I needed before pregnancy. :-) This is not a time when I want to look at all stuffed into my clothes!
I've been buying most of my stuff a size up from what I normally wear- I normally wear a S (or XS- tops only) but I have been buying mostly Mediums for fear I will grow out of small stuff. I have gotten a few things in size small, and they fit great right now with room to grow...but I wanted to play it on the safe side so I got some stuff in Mediums too.

I will warn you that Motherhood maternity tends to run a bit smaller than your regular size. JCP, Old Navy and the Gap tend to all be right on.

Ditto Pre pregnancy size. If you wore an 8 order an 8. The only thing I found was towards the end some of my shirts were tight or short (I'm also 5'11") so I had to buy a few shirts a size up.
The only thing that I found to get a size smaller were polo shirts. If I had bought that in my pre-pregnancy size, I would have looked like I was wearing a tent. Otherwise I wore all my shirts in my pre-pregnancy size. I did have some hand-me downs from my sister who is taller than me, and some of her shirts that were a tighter/clingy type material worked at the very end (most of them I couldn't do so I passed them on to my other sister). Pants all stayed the same.
ya i norm wear a L or XL top depending on the cut or place. I looked at old navy where i usually can do L and the maternity M would fit me now, so i went for the L in most tops and then the XL in a dress that was smaller in the bust, that I figured i'd be wearing April/May when i'll be at the biggest. HTH!
