hospital bag for c-section?

Is there anything different you would pack in your hospital bag for a c-section? Anything extra you would bring or anything you would leave? Anyone taking their own pillow and blankets? I know they say dont take any pillows blankets or clothes unless you dont mind them getting ruined. Is this the if youre having a c section? will they still get ruined or not?

Re: hospital bag for c-section?

  • I've only had a c/s and will be having another, but I am bringing my own pillows. The other difference might be underwear or pants, making sure they're big enough to not irritate the incision site. I also dislike the hospital pjs, so I'm bringing like 6 of my own.

  • I always advise bringing a travel neck pillow and a small fan.

It hurt to lie down after my c-section so I had to sleep sitting up and the neck pillow was awesome for that. Lying down pulled on my incision.

I was so hot after my c/s but I had to keep the room warm enough for baby. This time I'm bringing a 5" desk fan that I can point directly on me so I can sleep.

  • A boppy/nursing pillow if nursing.

I bled a ton after my c/s, so I will stay in the hosp. gown for the first day, and bring some cheap pj's that I don't care about for the rest of the time.

  • bring a boppy, pillows, old sweats, some kind of shirts, sports bra or nursing tank. i couldn't wait to put a bra on. slippers. make up, toiletries. you will be there about 4-5 days. it was nice to take a shower, blow dry my hair and put makeup on. i felt human again. also bring lap top, camera, chargers, snacks, clothes for baby to go home in. bring clothes for dh too. i had bleeding like a regular period so i wore my own clothes. also when they give you the mesh panties put them in your bag and then ask for more when they clean your room. i brought about 10 pairs home and it was great. good luck!!!

  • I am packing...........

    - A robe

    - My own pillows and throw blanket

    - General hygiene products.

    - My computer cause it is really boring when the baby is sleeping.

    - A game or two to play with DH

    - My camera

    - A extra bag for all the free goodies the hospital gives out

    - Comfy soft socks.

    - and that is kinda all I have figured out right now
