DC Center provider Xmas gifts?

Forgive me if this has already been a topic this season, but I can't seem to locate any similar posts.

My DS is in the infant room at a DC center (and finally eating a little - yay!).  There are three ladies in the infant room.  Being totally new to this scene, what are appropriate gifts and gift values?

I'm not a *huge* gift card fan, but if we go that route (like to Target or something) what might be an appropriate price range?

I'm assuming they can accept gifts.  They can, right?

  • i have no experience in this, but i would just bring in some nice baked goods. like chocolate covered pretzels or cookies...that kind of thing.  maybe like a big platter of them for all three ladies.

  • My sister and I (our children go to the same daycare) are going to take lunch to the entire staff for Christmas. My aunt works in day care and she says they love when parents do this because they get enough candles, lotions, etc. Is there any parents in your day care that you could go in with to do this?

  • We spent about $30 apiece on our 3 teachers when Holly was in the infant room. I think we did a $15 Bath & Body Works set (which I regret--who knows if they even liked that) and a $15-20 Target giftcard. I also brought them baked goodies at Christmas, and a few other times during the year.

Side note--When we visited awhile back, I saw that someone in their current class gave them each a Keurig!!! Now that's hard to top! I think that was an exceptionally big spender though (I sure hope so!)

This year, one of the moms coordinated it for us (also during Teacher Appreciation Week). Each set of parents got assigned a day to bring the teachers breakfast or lunch, and we're each chipping in $25 for gift cards. We'll also probably do something on our own, like bake cookies, etc.. We're in a center at DH's work though, so all the parents work there. So that was easier to coordinate via email than it would have been if we were in a regular center. So that might or might not work, depending on the other parents in your room.

I wouldn't blink an eye at spending $50+ on ours, personally--I love them so much! But when this has been asked before (for FT daycare, especially if you don't know them well yet), I've seen people say they just spend $15-20, or just brought them lunch or something, etc, and I think that's completely reasonable.
