  • Let them use Q-tips to make snow pictures. I would get blue construction paper and maybe cut and glue ahead of time (depending on your time for crafts) like a hill and a couple evergreen type trees. Then let them go at it making snow with the Q-tips!

  • Maybe cut out Christmas trees and get stickers that can be "ornaments" and glue sticks to glue on stars, circles, shapes, etc for ornaments as well?  Mess-free!
  • My DD brought home a homemade Christmas wreath last week from daycare.  They drew their hands, cut those out on green construction paper, maybe 10 each and glued them around a cut out red circle.  Then they got to put glitter all over it.
  • We made Frosty today! I cute out all the shapes ahead of time (circles for the body & head, a black hat, nose, eyes, etc.) and then she glued everything on a peice of blue paper. Then she used a hole punch to punch out little "snowballs" and glued those on. It was fun and easy!!

If you are really looking for a low fuss idea, I love pp's idea of the Christmas tree with sticker ornaments.

  • I am hosting a toddler craft for my mom group tomorrow.  The kids will be coloring die-cut mitten shapes and pasting them onto cardstock paper backgrounds.  I also have stickers and those little pom-poms for them to decorate their mittens with.  I hope it will go smoothly...it's fairly hassle free and was easy to prep.

  • Here are a few ideas.....

Buy green buttons and have them glue them on an already made tree shape. Or buy white buttons and make a snowflake.

Use cookie cutters to make a picture of holiday things.

Cut a wreath shape from a paper plate and then give kids pieces of green tissue paper to glue on. Add some red pom poms and a ribbon as well.

Make a Santa beard by letting LOs glue cotton balls onto a beard shape. Tie with string and wear.

And to the pp who is making mittens... we did this last year and I used paint to make handprints on plain paper and then taped the mittens on top (connected with string). You could lift the mittens to see the hands. It's one of the few projects that I kept from last year. I love to see the little hands.

  • This one looks cute.  https://www.frugalfamilyfunblog.com/2010/12/no-mess-christmas-tree-craft-for-tots.html

Today my DD and I made mittens.  I traced around her hand skipping the fingers to make a mitten shape out of foam paper.  Then I cut them out and let her decorate them with stickers.  We punched a hole and tied them together with yarn.  Then she glued pom poms on the top to finish it off.  She loved them and it was fairly easy and not messy.

  • We do Fun Foam stickers. I got Christmas tree shaped doorknob hangers at Hobby Lobby and ornament stickers to put on them. DS can't peel the backs off the stickers, but he understands how to place them. They also have lots of cute foam kits for cheap prices at Target. Both Targets I spotted them at had them in the same location - on an endcap in the regular giftwrap/bag/party supply area.
