Creeped out by my baby monitor.

This morning I woke to up my DH bringing Sydney in the bedroom - wide awake, diaper changed. I heard absolutely nothing until he came in. I asked him if he had turned off the monitor (it's always on my side of the bed). He said no. That he had looked at it when he woke up and she was all curled up in the corner of the crib. So he went downstairs and made coffee. He heard her crying a little later, so he went in and got her up.
I was shocked that I didn't hear anything. I am usually not that sound of a sleeper in the morning. So, while he is still standing in front of me holding Sydney, I grab the monitor, turn the picture on and ... there is Sydney curled up in her crib asleep. I did a double take. She was on the monitor and right in front of me.
Ewwwww..... I hate the feeling I got seeing that. I know it was only a weird electronic freeze of some sort, but creepy! That and the fact that my SIL had a weird experience this morning too. It involved my grandparents house. Long story, but she didn't know of our experience when she told me what she heard/saw.
I have the feeling that I am going to be a little unsettled all day.

Just curious. Do you have the Summer brand?
Between DS1 and DS2, I swear we went though 5-6 of those. They're HORRIBLE! I got sick of returning them.
I now use the Sony Babycall. It doesn't have a camera but at least it works.

Yep, I sure do Kari. And I just spent $35 getting a new rechargable cord and new rechargable batteries for it. It stopped charging (and then stopped working) about two weeks ago. I freaked out and made my husband fix it. It would be nice if it didn't go on me now since I could have used some of that $ towards a new one.
I use the Babycall as well. I like it because it is so sensitive I can hear Michael breathe.
OMG, that is creepy! When I read about her image still being on the monitor, I actually stopped chewing my cookie, lol!
Where did you get the new cord? I couldn't find a place to order it, so I ended up buying a craptastic monitor off Craigslist to replace my Summer.
Radio Shack. My DH's idea and it actually worked. Go figure.
