Breastmilk inside pump?

I was pumping, and was helping my 3 year old with something (multitasking). Anyway, I noticed milk had gotten into my tubes. I went to disconnect, and then it seemed like the milk was coming from inside the pump. Is this possible? If so, how do I get it out? The pump is still working...

Re: Breastmilk inside pump?

  • Just run it on high for 20 minutes without the tubes connected. And wash and hang dry your tubes, or better yet if you have rubbing alcohol pour some down the tubes and hang dry, they'll look brand new. I would not worry about the pump, I have had this happen along with a bit of water when the parts were not completely dry, and no problems so far.
