Does your LO seem irritable, gassy, or any other signs of discomfort? Could be reflux. I assume you are burping after feeding? Maybe try burping part way through the feeding also? Some babies don't know when they are full, so they just keep drinking. Do you have an oversupply?
she is very gassy. i'm trying to burp her frequently and having her sitting upright after the feedings, but she is still spitting up a bunch. talked to the on call nurse, who thinks it might be reflux. i wish there was something i could do now, as LO is pretty upset : (

It does sound like reflux. My DD didn't have symptoms till 9 weeks and it was off and on. The pedi put her on Zantac and it was like night and day! Until you get to the pedi just keep doing what you're doing. GL
My almost 2 week old DD is doing this also, not every feeding but 1 or so feedings during a day. She is a struggle to burp too, I have tried many ways~ shoulder, sitting up and laying down on her belly. Any advice would be great!

we did some medication but I found what the doctor precribed was giving her really bad constipation and didn't help that much. When I started feeding lying down (as suggested in the Kellymom info) when we were at home or my parents it made a bigger difference than the medicaiton. (I live in Engalnd so I don't know what the equivalant of the medication is in the US)
I also know that DD does not like it when I eat beans such as white beans or kidney beans so for us it helps if I steer clear.
I forgot to add she only spits up after feeding when she starts hiccuping. Maybe this is common?? I know if I had the hiccups as much as she did I would feel sick.
