I think they are called Goody Girls. The little, tiny, clear ones. I thought they would be impossible to use because they are so small but it's actually pretty easy. But I can only get one or two uses out of them before they are too stretched out to stay in her hair. I got a pack of maybe 100 for

I don't know why the end of my reply got cut off buts it's a pack of 100 for $3 at Target
We use tiny little rubber bands made for hair. For the life of me, I can't remember where I bought them. I totally saw them as I was walking by them and grabbed them. It was one of the big chain stores - Target, Meijer, or Walmart (though probably not Walmart).
Mine are multi-colored, and I think in a pack of 300. They were cheap (like no more than a couple of bucks).
The fabric ponytail holders don't work - she takes them right out. Same with bows.
And, it's not easy to get a ponytail in her hair. I have to do it when she's eating (and preferably something that she really likes - like Oreos or M&Ms). And I only have one chance, so I'd better get it right the first time (otherwise, it's a complete meltdown)!

I think we have the same ones Brenda described. I got them at Target in the baby section, near an endcap. The fabric ones are a waste.
It's hard to fix Isabella's hair too. I turn on Sesame Street or something and we sit in front of the tv while I pull her hair back.
