..as a potential table food at 7 months when giving examples of foods that are soft enough to eat without teeth? i mean, i get that this is not a lie - fries would be plenty easy to gum. but.. should they really be encouraging fast foods for infants??? am i just over-reacting to my appt still? do people really give fries to babies?
explanation - our pedi gives a sheet at each visit giving age appropriate info re: development/feeding/guidance (don't even get me started on that last one and the demand that i put my baby to bed awake without a paci - yeah no thanks).
under feeding it says 'teeth are not necessary to begin most table foods such as cheerios, crackers, and french fries'
Re: why are french fries mentioned..
I am exceedingly proud to say that B never tasted a white potato in any form until she was over a year old. They offer almost nothing nutritionally, especially if the skin isn't being eaten, and if it's for a child under a year old, the skins are surely removed. So that was my long way of saying, NO! You are not overreacting.
What about baked sweet potato fries? I think that is a great alternative!

And this why it is so important for parents to have standards! I'd so judge if I saw a 7 mo old w/ McDonald's fries. Wendy's - that might be another story... (so j/k).
