Does anyone have this booster seat?

image

I want to say someone did... We're in the market for a new one for Holly. The one we have works fine, but it doesn't have a back, and sits too far forward for her to lean up against the chair back. This means she slumps and slides down her chair, and just fools around in general. I think if she had a seat with it's own back, she'd stop that. I don't want to spend a ton, and this one's only $15.

If you have this one, do you like it? Can you take the adjustable part (the blue part) off entirely, when the child gets tall enough?

ETA: one of the reviews on BRU said that it was too small for her 20 month old, and only recommended for petite kids. No one else had that complaint, so hopefully that's inaccurate. Holly is pretty average, but since she's 23mos, and I'd like to use it until she's tall enough to sit in the chair by itself, I just wanted to make sure...thoughts?

Re: Does anyone have this booster seat?

  • We had a similar one. It used to be for travel, and hte last time she used it was last Easter. About 2-3 months ago she REFUSED to sit in her high chair anymore [screaming, wouldn't eat, etc], so we've been sh!tty parents and we let her stand on a regular chair to eat. She will get down once in awhile and run around, but for the most part it works for her, and therefore for us!

  • What brand is this? I need one to travel with and it looks perfect...
  • I think Lala has it. We had the one with the tray for my sisters house and it was fine for a few uses but I hated the darn thing. I'm like MrsG, somehow Jocelyn eats better standing in a chair or sitting on the couch. We do have a booster that we love, this one.

  • We have one similar--THIS one. Keira LOVES this seat. It travels well and we use it at home too for breakfast and lunch. The extended part on the bottom folds in so you can use it with or without. The tray is also adjustable with how close you want it to your child. We really like it!

  • We have the older version of this one... https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3553506

We never had a high chair, just used this from day one for all 3 of ours.  Jeremiah still uses his (well sometimes, most of the time he likes to be like his sisters and just sit in the chair himself..he's a little short when he does this, but he can still reach his food and he's happy so we let him do it).  But, my girls do still fit in this chair at 4 years old, so its a few dollars more, but at least you know it would be big enough.

    Good luck!

  • We have the Healthy Care Lion Booster Seat. It has a back that folds down and travels really easily. I like that its low enough to push under the table, not just up to it. Caleb seems to have plenty of room to keep using it for a long time.

  • Thanks y'all--I should add that I don't need one with the tray feature. Holly eats at the table with us, but just isn't tall enough to sit on the chair alone (and no way I'm letting that wild child stand--y'all are brave! LOL!).

We have the FP spacesaver highchair, which I loved, but it won't fit under the table. We've been using a really basic one, but I'd like one with a higher back so she doesn't slide down. We don't strap her in either, but I want one that straps to the chair...

I might check out the FP HealthyCare, and the one I posted. Thanks! :-)

  • We have that exact one and we do like it.  The blue part will come off completely.  The seat back is low so they can't lean back against it all the way, but it is ok and he does sit right back against it so it is definitely useful at that height.  It is nice having the back compared to the shoe box we were using before which had no back :)

I can't imagine that it would be too small too soon.  I think Ben still has a ways to go before he outgrows it, he is 25 pounds now.

Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Thanks! That is good to know. The back on ours doesn't even come above her hips, so I even one that comes part of the way up her back would be good. And the little crotch thing would keep her from sliding (which she does on purpose!)
