I'll have to take a look at my emails, but she had a really cool box sent to me, and I googles dry ice, which gave me a wwbsite with some comapny listings. We found one in Everett. We shipped UPS, and I'll see if I have a pic of the final product. Te key is to do it firstthing in the morning so it goes out that day. Otherwise it will go out the next morning.
and she thought the gel ice packs would be enough. Not sure if I should risk it, or do dry ice? And how was shipping covered? Did you pay and get reimbursed, or did she do some sort of prepaid shipping?
I emailed you, but I also couldn't find the email we had where she showed me the container she was getting. She said it arrived perfectly frozen though...I remember it had insulated sides and bottom and that I simply placed the dry ice on top.
If the gel packs are the ones that last for three days then I think it might work. I saw some at the fair that were similar. I also think dry ice adds an extra charge.
I paid for nothing except the dry ice. I can't even guess how much it was to ship, but I'm guessing it was over $100 for a dry ice, perishable package over 10lbs that had to be overnighted.
We tried a pre-paid label, but she couldn't get it to print, so she opened up a UPS account and I just put on there...bill to recipient.
I hope this helps. I wish I could remember more about the packaging she used, but you're on the right track.
