We had our anatomy scan today. I posted earlier that I've been excited and anxious about it. I have a uterine anomaly and one kidney, so this hasn't been a straightforward pregnancy.
Good news: Baby has two kidneys. I think the US tech thought we were crazy because DH and I cheered when she pointed them out to us. She probably doesn't see many couples get excited about kidneys. I was involved in the saddest birth of a baby with renal agenesis, and that's all I've been thinking about since the OB told us that there was an increased risk that the baby could have more severe renal abnormalities. My cervical length is nice and normal. They're following that closely because my didelphys uterus can run out of room as baby get bigger, sending me into premature labor.
We have to go back in 4 weeks, because little guy wouldn't cooperate and they didn't get clear shots of the heart. Everything they saw looked good, though. Yay!!!

Welcome to team blue! Now I'll be blog stalking you for BOY nursery ideas
Glad to hear that baby has both kidneys and that he's a healthy little guy. Sorry he wouldn't give all the views of his heart but at least that means you'll get to see his little face again in 4 weeks! I always look at my u/s as a way to "see" the baby again and it helps me from getting too stressed about them. I hope your pregnancy continues well and that your kidney does ok with handling everything!
