NBR: Home Alone

I am burning some PTO time today and tomorrow, but the kids are at daycare, as I have to pay for it anyway.  It occured to me after I dropped them off and sat down on the couch, I have not been home alone for 12 weeks.  Yeah, I've done errands by myself, but not been home.  Big change since I got married 3 years ago.  Took a good deep breath, and poured myself a cup of coffee.

Making lasagna, cleaning the house, and have errands to do this afternoon.  But I just wanted to share a moment of tranquility.

  • I'm very jealous.  Hope you have a good time by yourself.

  • Awesome! I was home alone on Saturday morning when DH took M to Gymboree. I was only alone for an hour, but was lovely. I took a bath and wrapped a few presents :)
  • How wonderful!  Make sure to take some time for yourself as well - reading a book, watching a movie or just napping.  It might be awhile before you get this opportunity again.
  • I bet three years ago you had no idea how much you would appreciate that time alone.  I agree, it seems the only time alone I have is when DH takes Matt out for a run.

  • Lucky you. I have had a few of those times since DD was born but I can count them on one hand.

I lived alone from the time I was 23 until I was 34, it was such a hard adjustment for me to live with other people (and his mess!) when I moved in with DH. There are still times when I kick everyone out for an hour or two of joyous solitude.

  • Enjoy it. Let it refuel you. Ahhh.... I am jealous, but trying not to be :)

Laura, you sound like me. I loved living alone back in the day. I lived alone for a long time before DH (not as long as you though). Then, just as I was getting used to living with DH, we sold my old house and moved in with his MIL while our house was being built. Talk about adjusting!
