Can't believe I'm doing this

I have given up coffee. Cold turkey. I hate it, but it actually seems to be helping me. Ever since having DS, if I got a stomach bug, it would take weeks for my system to get back on track. I had another one over Thanksgiving weekend, and just when I thought I was better, I'd have some coffee, and I'd be messed up again. In the 2 days since I've quit, I've been much better, but I REALLY miss it. Hot cocoa and tea are just not cutting it for me, especially since he was unusually vocal in his sleep last night and kept waking me up (how did I manage to give birth to a sleep talker?). ::sigh::

Re: Can't believe I'm doing this

  • Good luck! I had to give it up cold turkey when I found out I was pg (since it was kind of unexpected I wasn't planning on it so soon).. And gosh I miss it.. but it was not as bad as I thought.

  • I stopped drinking any since I was preg with my first DD.  I just didn't want to risk even a little bit of caffeine.  Caffeine/coffee agitates the lining of the stomach, so I"m glad to hear that cutting it out is going well for you!

If you're looking for more energy, there are some healthy/healthier options over coffee.. I use Emergn-C packets for a boost, also green tea (which has a tiny tiny bit of caffeine, but overall it is just good for you). I hear you though, DD is 14 months and still getting up a lot at night, so I'm always tired!  Good for you!
