First day back to work (and DD's first day of daycare) =

Snow Day!!

I work at a daycare and although we are still open the local school boards have closed all schools and offices so I decided that it was not worth the 30 min drive to go into work today (all back roads).  Officially I am taking the day of unpaid which sucks but not as much as going into the ditch or getting into an accident or just general nerve-wracking driving (the plow went through about 10 min ago but I would have left for work over an hour ago).  On top of the bad roads now, we have a staff meeting tonight so DH was going to have to make the drive to pick up DD and they are calling for up to another foot of snow throughout the day.  So even if we made it there safe it does not look like the drive for DH or my drive home after the staff meeting would be fun either.

 Oh well - I think we will go tobogganing!

    Please keep the snow there. In California winter = rain and I am perfectly happy with that. DH and I hate snow.

    Schools in London area are closed today.  They're getting some wicked snowsqualls off the lake.

    Yep - we have lived here for about 3 1/2 years and this is the first time they have closed the schools that I can remember -  They even closed all the board offices.  Every other daycare that I have worked for is closed when the schools close.  This one does not (but they have a lot of staff that work before and afterschool programs in the school so all those staff have a paid day off!)

    Hey, sounds like you're not too far off from where I am! Are you in the northern or southern part of western GTA? I'm in the Northwestern part (aka Brampton).
