I don't have TV... but now I'm curious. What happened?
I guess tonight's episode was a spoof on the muppets. so instead of it being a cartoon, they were all muppets.
anyway katy perry was moe's girlfriend. (she played herself, not in muppet form)
so at the end, moe is trying to kiss her. he's jumping up and jumping up but can't reach. So he says "oh forget it, I'll kiss your belly button instead" and then shoves his face in her crotch.
She goes "uh that's not my belly button..."
and it ends with her saying "but I didn't say stop."
I just thought it was pretty tasteless.. i don't even watch the show, DH called me to see that part because he was so shocked
I saw it. I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped a little bit - I'm not sure what to think of it. On one hand, it's not a kids' show. On the other, that's pretty filthy- shows do that joke all the time, but don't usually take it that far..

I know right.. I have to keep reminding myself that it's not supposed to be a kids show, but in all honesty that's how I see it. I would expect something like that from family guy but not the simpsons
I think the point was to really push the limits because of how she got cut from sesame street for a "too revealing" dress ( which I dont think was all that bad)
i think i'm just going to have to personally boycott Katy Perry. She is getting too gross in my opinion now. Granted I didn't see this or Sesame Street but I don't think I need to see them in order to solidify my opinion of her.
I think it's hilarious parody of what people though actually happened on Sesame Street--as if to say "You think a bustier is inappropriate? I'll *show* you inappropriate."

I didn't see the episode, but I tend to agree with this, just knowing The Simpsons in general. I think people have gotten so used to it being on prime-time that they've forgotten that it is actually a show for adults, not children. Just because you *know* who the target audience is doesn't mean you don't become complacent and let your kids tune in, finding yourself incredibly uncomfortable when they pull out a perfectly reasonable adult-intended scene like this one.
I'm sure there will be a massive uproar over it, but I hope the writers and producers hold firm and tell people to piss off. If you want something child-friendly, don't put it on Fox.

Here's the stick that just fell out of your butt. You are aware that Katy Perry does not write anything she does herself? As far as Sesame Street goes, they have wardrobe and should have been aware of her outfit being a little racy. I mean, she's racy but that's who she is.
