Christmas ideas for 6+ monthers?

What are some good gifts for 6+ month-ers? I need some ideas to give to family members for DD... and maybe a few cheap ideas for us to give her. Not looking for anything extravagant, definitely needs to be under $100. I'd also prefer to stay away from too many battery operated things. I have some ideas, but most of it seems to be "too old" for her to use in the near future. Things I've thought about: water table, cozy coupe, clothes, and play food probably felt.

Anything in particular that you DC loved around that age?

My youngest is 6 months right now and she's enjoying some of big sister's leftover toys that I probably wouldn't have thought about getting for her yet, including these plastic ball pit type balls:

Books--really, you can't have too many of them. The person giving the gift can give one book if their budget is small or several of the more expensive books if their budget is larger.

Do you guys already have an activity table? It can be used flat on the floor for non-crawlers or propped up on 2 legs before using it as an actual stand-up toy. Cam LOVED hers.

She liked her fill & spill stuff from Melissa & Doug also - she had the fishbowl here at home and the picnic basket at work. Books. Balls. Soft blocks.

Will was 8 months at Christmas last year. Some of the things he got and loved were:

Music Table [huge hit. Great for learning to pull up on too]
Fisher Price Stride to Ride Lion [he still LOVES this thing]
Shape Sorter
Books
Pop Up Toy - he couldn't figure this out for awhile, but he loved pushing the holes closed.
Fisher Price Little People - Noah's Ark [has been great for teaching him animal sounds]
