I just started my second tri and had no idea that my back would already be hurting this bad... I can't sleep and just walking around it feels like I'm being punched in the back. Before I got pregnant, I ran about 5-6 miles several days a week and took yoga classes 3-4 times a week. The yoga studio I go to always heats the rooms to 90-some degrees, so I had to stop going once I found out I was expecting... They do have a couple of prenatal classes that I've been considering, but they are very expensive. The "testimonials" claim that they are magic for back pain. Anyone out there go to yoga or found that it helped back pain? Just curious before I invest. Other suggestions are also appreciated
Re: Killer back pain... can prenatal yoga help?
My prenatal yoga class definitely helps with the back pain. I was feeling pretty crummy yesterday, but by the end of class felt much better. It's not a miracle cure, but it does help. If you did yoga before, you can try some stuff on your own too... cat and dog stretches feel great on a sore back.
Good luck!
Yoga has been helping me a lot! I don't always have time to go, but when I skip 4 or 5 days or more, I really feel it in my back. I wish I had the time/money to go more often, so I'm thinking about buying a prenatal dvd to do at home. Hope you feel better!
