Postpartum Depression

Pregnant and depressed

I didnt know if I should put this on here or on the 2nd tri board or what.Im 19 weeks and for the past 2 or 3 months ive really been depressed. I was depressed before i got pregnant but I never got treated for it. I have to really force myself to do everyday things like eating or sleeping or just taking care of myself. I cry constantly and I feel so numb and alone. I dont know if this is just part of being pregnant or If i should talk to my doctor about it.

  • Even though it may just be pregnancy making your depression worse, it is very important you discuss what's happening with your doctor. Especially when it begins getting in the way of you taking care of yourself and your baby. Hang in there!

  • Oh wow! Definitely talk to your doctor! I did at 14 weeks and am now 26 weeks. I've been on a  pretty low dose of Zoloft and feel a TON better.

Get help! It's not going to miraculously get better when your baby is born. You can do it...just ask for help!

  • Talk to your doctor! I have gone through some very blue days and declined meds but was always comforted knowing I could call if I really needed them. Our hormones are so wacky and you certainly aren't alone in feeling blue!
