Since several of us seem to have had a stressful week, I thought maybe we could take a trip down Memory Lane.
Remember your first dress up dance? I do. It was 1982. My mom and older sister helped do my hair and makeup. I wish I could find the one polaroid picture I had of it.
What got me thinking about this is my 12 yo had her first dance last night. I can tell you it is fun watching your babies experience these things. She did try to sneak out of the house wearing converse sneakers with her dress. I made her change. Now that I think about it, what would it have mattered if she wore the sneakers? Live and learn.

Pretty! I can't actually remember if I have a pic of me before my first dance, but I remember the dress. Pale pink with white lace overlay, long sleeves and just above the knee. I was 11 so it was still kind of a little girl dress.
My best friend requested "Like a Virgin" and was in the bathroom when it played. Also, neither of us really knew what a virgin was. We knew it had to do with sex, but didn't know whether it meant you had it or hadn't yet.
Yes, I was a bit naive.

She looks gorgeous!
What a special memory.
Re: the sneakers. My 12yo DD and I have the same issues. 1/2 the time I feel I'm turning into my mother. 1/2 the time I feel guilty about it. This is a tough age.
