Advice again please

Who do I call if I know that the father of my child is going to be getting deployed soon and has yet to tell the court like he is suppose to because of child support. He was also just arrested for a warrant and has pending cases with the court right now to. I have no clue if he is really being deployed of if he is making it up like usual.

I have no clue what branch of army he is in or his unit. I only know where he goes for drill and obviously his name and dob.

TIA

  • Hi. I'm a big lurker on this board but I read your post to my husband (a captain in the Army) and he said to go where he goes for drill and ask to speak to a commander.  Tell the commander he isn't paying child support and they will take it from his check, according to DH.  He says this happens often and this is the easiest way to resolve it.  GL.

  • Yes, when you have dirt bag fathers, Commanders tend to solve everything, and if that specific one can't help you, they'll find someone who can.
  • I would be certain to have the proper documentation (birth certificate, social security number for your LO and license and SSN for yourself as well). Good luck, I hope that you are able to get the CS your LO is entitled to.

ETA, I thought about this a bit more. . . Have you filed for CS? Do you have an attorney? How long have you been trying to get CS from him? I think that you will get a lot farther if you have the proper paperwork filed and court ordered. Taking that paperwork to where he drills may get the results you want. If you have not filed yet, I would do that first. I do hope you are able to this taken care of.

  • Yes I have filed child support and he is ordered to pay $297 and he is 3 months behind as of now. I am not worried about the money I am worried about him leaving the country and not telling the court. His out standing cases and warrants are because he was caught driving under a suspended license and also stealing gas so now he has court cost to pay and restitution. I also just found out today that he is 2 months behind on his car payment so I am sure he will soon be losing his car.

I have never had a lawyer child support was ordered because I had to put my daughter on medicaid and I know he can't afford one so I know it will be a very long time till he fights to see his daughter and I have everything documented to fight back.

    Thanks again ladies!

  • It is good that you have gone through the proper channels, it sucks that he is not stepping up to his responsibilities. From what you describe, even if his unit is deploying, I would be surprised if he is with them. Best of luck!

  • You should be able to get her military health insurance, with a little work.

And once his unit is made aware he is behind on his payments, they will usually MAKE SURE soldier pays up before he even touches his paycheck
