Two Under 2

Phil & Ted Double Stroller

Does anyone have one?  Do you love/hate it?  Also, how did you decide which one to get?  I would love the vibe so you can fold it with the back seat on, but not sure that feature is really worth the extra money.

Thanks!

Re: Phil & Ted Double Stroller

  • I have the sport and I LOVE it - it's easy to maneuver and fairly light and compact for a double . I haven't used it with both girls yet (I wear DD when we're out right now), but I nannied for a family a few years ago that had one and I used it with their daughters (1 and 2 1/2) and it was great for two.

Taking the back seat off to fold it is no big deal, takes a couple extra seconds.

We picked the Sport since we live in AK and I wanted something that would handle decently on the snow.

  • We have the Explorer and love love love it! It's super easy to maneuver and goes over all terrain... popping off the seat is no big deal to fold. I love how small it folds, it fits in the back of my grand am with plenty of room to spare. Baby Gizmo does a great review of it and a bunch of other strollers on their YouTube channel.

  • is the explorer the new one... I read up on a new model... sounds like they fixed everything I found fault with mine..

I have a 2 1/2 y/o sport ... I bought it when ds was 9m/o and dd was 2yr.  It has been so handy.  my kids are now (almost 5) 4 and 3 and we just used it friday night in manhattan.  it's easy to maneuver, I push it one handed with both kids in it while walking a dog or holding my coffee.  I would have liked the fold in one piece option... but mine, I must remove the jumpseat. only time this has been an issue is when entering the subway (if no elevator) or getting on a bus.  but we live in an outer borough and drive more, so it's not a huge problem.  check jumpseat weight limits. I think it's 33lb..... so we're pretty close to being done with the doubles option which is fine, my kids prefer to walk most of the time.  I jogged a 5K with my kids in it.  I've used it in the mall (and got to the back of gymbo and back).  I've used it in the park... on the beach... in manhattan... I've used it as a single and a double ... in every season.  I used it almost daily for 2 years.

great stroller. would buy a Phil & Ted product again.

  • I bought a vibe last year or so and hated it so much that I returned it ASAP.  It was bulky and terrible to fold.  The directions were a joke, and overall I just thought that it wasn't worth the $$$.  For a double stroller, I have a BJCM and MIL just bought us a micro.
