LO is drinking same amount of formula as before!
In the AM, I'll give him 1-1.5 tbs bananas mixed with 2tbs formula and 1tbs rice cereal or oatmeal. Then at dinner time, he'll down about 2-3tbs of veggie. But he's still wanting formula (6-8oz) every 3hrs during the day.
DS is quite fluffy...he's around 22lbs and 29in long. Do you guys think I need to add another solid feeding in there somewhere? I thought by now, he would be needed less formula. Not complaining but I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. lol. He sure loves to eat though!
Re: Solids 2x daily and still...
Thanks!
Oh I haven't been cutting back at all. He's been taking about 40-45oz a day and his big breakfast and dinner. He's been eating like a locust the past few weeks. I am thinking 6mo growth spurt.
It does to me too! lol
My pedi is fine with it. He pretty much said if DS wants to eat every 3 hours and is still sleeping good at night, he's extremely active (he is crawling and will go to sitting all by himself now), peeing and pooing good, then he is fine. He said by the time LO is 9-12mo, he should be more toward the 75 percentile, rather than 95 and above.
I trust what he says but man...it does seem like a lot still lol
Right around 5.5 months DS started drinking 40-45oz of formula. He normally drank around 32-35oz. We started solids and he kept taking the 40oz of formula for a couple more weeks. He just went through a really big growth spurt. He now eats 3 big meals of solids a day and drinks about 32oz of formula. He weights 20 lbs.
This. Our DS actually ate more formula. And he eats a lot of solids... 11.5oz per day and some finger foods. He still drinks between 25 and 30 oz.
