XP: Is my FP cradle swing defective?

I got the new FP Snugabunny swing - the next gen of little lamb swings, but it plugs in.  Fedex arrived today, and I immediatley put it together.  I have it plugged in and the mobile and music work fine.  The swing setting lights up, but the swing does not swing.  There is not even a sound like the motor is trying to work.

I tried calling FP, but they are closed until Monday.  Do I need to put 4D batteries in the motor in addition to having it plugged in?  That's not the way I understood it to be, and I don't want to go out and buy batteries if my swing is defective.

Any thoughts?  Does anyone have experience with FP customer service?

TIA!

Re: XP: Is my FP cradle swing defective?

  • We don't have that particular swing, but we have another FP that plugs in and it swings fine. I'd suggest double checking that all the parts are correct and secure and if so, then wait and call FP because it sounds like it could be a defect.

  • My FP cradle swing was not working properly. We had originally bought the garden butterfly version that has an outlet and battery option. It would swing but made a horrible noise (like the motor was being strained). I contacted diapers.com (where the swing was purchased) and exchanged the product directly to them, free of charge. We decided to exchange for the FP lamb swing that only requires batteries- it works great! I have heard of FP sending out replacement motors and did not want to deal with the hassle... could you return the product directly to the store you purchased?

  • Do you have to give it a little starting push to get it going?
