Early Preschool

Does anyone send their LO to preschool?   

I am considering a Montessori school (if we can afford it) for DS once he turns 18 months, so that I can get some one on one time with the new baby once he/she is here (plus get a little break in the day during the last trimester).  I also thought it would be really good for DS. 

I was thinking of 2-3 half days a week. 

If you send LO, how often do they go?

    We're going to start DS in a 2 year old preschool program next fall.  It's 5 days a week from 8:15-11:30.  I was looking for something 2-3 days per week but couldn't really find it.

    I'm looking at Montessori too for next Fall. DD will be 18 mos in late February but they won't let her start til Sept since she won't be 18 mos as of their January session (you can either start January or September at the ones I looked at) And yes, its not cheap! However, I've heard wonderful things about it. I am planning on three 1/2 days (so that I am not too sad missing her!) and I think it will be great for her. Just a note- one of the Montessori locations I visited won't do two days, the least they will do is three, and the owner said its because they tried doing a two day program and it just didn't give the children enough time to adapt and really get into the program. So if you could do 3 days, that's something to keep in mind! Congrats and Good luck with the new baby! :-)

    Thanks for the info!  The one I am looking at will do 2-5 days or half days, but I was thinking 3 1/2 days might be better.  I didn't want to do a whole day just yet.  Maybe the next year.  Most of the schools here have enrollment anytime,  but there are waiting lists.  I am probably going to visit one next week with DS if I can convince DH.  I was in Montessori school when I was 3 and 4 and I loved it.
