Rayskit and Carebear

Ladies:  I wanted to Thank you for your post in my "I gave up..." post.

Quote Rayskit:

"I think what you're doing is great. So many ppl seem to think nursing is all or nothing, but if you can continue to have that time and BF 2x a day, that's what works for you. It's not like formula erases the benefits of BM. Honestly, as a huge, crazy lactivist, I wish more people would realize that you can nurse part time, on a schedule that works for you, and feed solids/give formula other times, rather than just give up altogether."

This really stuck with me over Thanksgiving Holidays.  When people asked if I was still BFing I didn't feel like a failure.  I was doing what I could and what worked for me. And though I wasn't EBFing I was still BFing.  Thanks for making me see at the 10,000 foot level and not the 10 foot.  I appreciated it!

Re: Rayskit and Carebear

  • I'm glad!!  BFing is so stressful in itself - I remember being so consumed with it while doing it.  Then when I did end up stopping, I looked back and thought -what was I so worried about???  I try to make new moms stop and enjoy their baby instead of fretting about meaningless stuff b/c I know how overwhelming each decision was for me at the time.

  • You're so welcome and I am glad I could help. You're not a failure- you've done an amazing thing. You'll continue to make tough decisions for the rest of your child's life and the most we can do is just do the best we can. XOXOXOX
