I got stranded today vent

I pulled out of my work parking lot and it sounded like the engine dropped out of my car and it died. Wouldn't start. I had to wait about 45 mins for a tow and 2.5 hrs. later finally got home in my new Dodge Caravan rental.
A new car is on my list now.... this would be 5th time in the last yr it's been in the shop and more than likely it's the transmission.... if so, that would make it the 4th, yes I said 4th transmission. Can you say lemon? I've only had it a year!!
