My husband and I are paying cash for our prenatal care and delivery. I made an appointment with my obgyn and was informed that her fee was $2900. Lab work and 18 week ultrasound excluded. Does this sound average to you guys? Thanks.

    My OB fee was 3k but we have insurance and only had to pay 20% of that. That included u/s because they were done in his office but not the glucose test that was done at a lab. At my old OB, u/s were done at the hospital and even with insurance that got expensive fast .

    I think that's exactly what ours was too, but that only includes the doctor's fees for the delivery - the hospital itself, anesthesia dept (if applicable), radiology, etc. could all have their own charges for the delivery and hospital stay.
