Slow Cooker Recipes

I'm in search of some good recipes.  I want to be able to throw it all together before work and come home to a home cooked meal that my husband and I along with my daughter can enjoy!

Re: Slow Cooker Recipes

  • Chicken Chili-

One pound of Chicken breast, a can of black beans (seasoned if you want), a can of kidney beans (I get the chili beans), and two cans of diced tomatoes (I get the zesty one).

Throw it all in the crockpot on low for the day. Shred chicken with two forks when you get home. I serve with cheese and sour cream. Healthy, cheap, yummy, and super easy! What more could you ask for?

  • This was EXCELLENT (crock pot for 8-10hrs on low instead of stove).  You don't have to brown the meat first, though  did the last time.  I also added brussels sprouts and mushrooms.

  • Place 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts on bottom of crock pot. Add 2 cans rotel, one can black beans (rinsed and drained), one bag frozen corn, and 1/2 (I usually add a little more than 1/2) bottle of taco sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours. Shred chicken and spoon into soft taco shells. Add some cheese, sour cream, and/or avocado and you've got delicious chicken soft tacos. Or serve over rice.

  • I got these in an e-mail from Kraft Foods yesterday...excited to have a few new recipes to try:)

    https://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/dinner/planning/slow-cooker.aspx

They have good recipes in their e-mails, so it's worth signing up for them.  They are not always the healthiest, but they are quick and easy.  You can usually make them lighter too by using low-fat, non-fat items too.

  • We love this one in our house!

    Salsa Chicken

    Recipe:

3 - Boneless, skinless chicken breasts

    8 oz sour cream

    1 packet taco seasoning

    1 cup salsa

    1 can black beans

    1 can corn

1 can cream of mushroom soup

Throw in the chicken and put everything else on top. I usually add a little water to thin it out. Cooks on high for at least 4 hours. So yummy... We serve with mexican rice and tortillas!

This one sounds similar to mine!

  • lol!  I make my salsa chicken with 2 chicken breasts and 1 jar of black bean and corn salsa.  Soooo easy!  Cook for 4 hours and shred.

I really like this blog: https://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

I've made her broccoli cheese soup and lasagna and both were great.

This is another one of my faves:

    Busy Day Stew

1/2 c. red wine or beef broth
2 med. onions, chopped (1 cup)
2 cans Italian flavored tomatoes (141/2 oz. each)
    1 lb. beef stew meat
1 tsp. finely chopped fresh garlic
1 pkg. frozen Italian green beans (10 oz.)
1 pkg. refrigerated fettuccine, cut in half (9 oz.)

In Crockery Pot stir together all ingredients except green beans and fettuccine. Cook on low for 10 to 12 hours (high 4 to 6 hours) or until beef is tender.

Just before serving, stir in beans and fettuccine. cover; cook stirring occasionally, until beans are cripsly tender and pasta is tender (6 to 9 minutes).

  • I'm doing this one today:

1 lb of pork spare ribs

    1 bottle of bbq sauce

    salt and pepper

I salt and pepper the spare ribs, throw them in the crock pot, cover with the bbq sauce (i like sweet baby rays) and turn on low for 7ish hours or if I'm in a time crunch high for 4ish hours...

    and voila!

I usually make some corn on the cob and some cornbead (or I buy the corn toasties) for sides...and if there is enough left I shred it for pulled pork sammies for lunch

  • Yum!  All of these look great.  I'm saving for later.

Here's slow-cooker recipe.  It takes a bit of time to brown the meat, but makes the best spaghetti sauce ever!  I usually put it all together the night before and stick the crockpot in the fridge.  Then I can put it on in the morning first thing without having to do any prep.

    Ingredients:
three-four big cans of tomato sauce (29 oz)
    1-1.5 lbs ground beef browned
2-3 Hot Italian Sausage ? I take it out of the casing and scramble with the ground beef
    ? large yellow onion minced
    ?-1 cup Italian Seasoning
    1 Tbsp minced Garlic
    1 tsp black pepper

    Directions:
scramble and brown hamburg and sausage
put all ingredients in crockpot and stir
cook on low for at least 8 hours

I also love doing pot roast in the crockpot:

    Ingredients
1 roast (3-5 lbs? - I just get whatever I get at Costco)
    1/2 small yellow onion, minced
    1 can beef broth
    1/2 cup red wine
    1/2 cup water
    two handfuls of baby carrots
1 packet of onion soup mix
    1 tsp minced garlic
    1 Tbsp marjoram

    Directions:
Put baby carrots on the bottom of the crockpot. (I like to use those crockpot liners to make clean up really easy.) Place roast on top of carrots. Throw in everything else. Cook on low for approximately 8 hours. Serve.

I like to throw in peas or green beans right at the end and bump it up to high for 15-20 minutes to cook those. I usually serve with rolls and mashed potatoes. You can also add the potatoes to the crockpot and cook them with the roast if you'd rather. Quick. Easy. Yummy.

  • 3-5lb pot roast

    16oz jar of pepperocini

    3 cloves minced garlic

combine all ingredients (including juice from pepperocinis) in crock pot. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Slice or shred meat. Can be served as sandwiches.
