ovarian cyst questions

I just left the ER tonight after I went in for horrible right sided adbominal pain. I was convinced it was my gallbaldder. Nope, it was tennis ball sized cyst on my right ovary. They gave me Vicodin to take and said that it wil rupture. How painful will it be?? I have never felt pain like that. I think it was even worse than labor!!

    it's going to hurt. like, REALLY hurt. your first instinct will probably  be that you want to go to the ER. 

    I've had 4 although none of mine were ever that big.. my last one though made me drop to the floor when it ruptured. it was such horrible burning pain. I ended up in the ER even though I knew what it was. I just thought for sure that my appendix burst!

    Did they say what kind of a cyst it looks like (there are something like 5 kinds)?  They can't tell for sure but often there are common appearances. 

    i get endometrioma cysts due to endometriosis.  One of them started the size of a grapefruit and grew to ten INCHES in diameter.  The other never got bigger than a golf ball.  Both required surgery and neither ruptured.  AF, however, was the absolute devil and i ended up in the ER both times.  Toradol was my friend, as was Percocet.

    They never said what kind it was. Did a CAT scan and ultrasound and said it looked "Normal". Would only do surgery if it was tangled. I am just worried sick about it rupturing :(

    I'm sorry, rupturing cysts really, really hurt. Use the vicodin!
