Bella bands: worth it or not?

Some of my pants are starting to get a little tight, although to other people I am barely showing at all.

In your opinion are they worth getting? Do they actually help keep your pants stay up or just cover the fact that you don't have them done up?

I have to wear business wear to work and don't want to be out buying a bunch of new suits when I have more fun baby stuff to spend money on  :)

Re: Bella bands: worth it or not?

  • I think they were worth it to help hide the unbuttoned-ness.  I didn't really use them much after that.  I have a not small rear end so they rolled up on me a bit once I got bigger and didn't do a great job of actually holding my pants up.  I would definitely look around on ebay and try a knock off (or even target has a cheaper version made by the same people I think) before shelling out a bunch of money on the real deal.  HTH!!

  • I just hacked off the top of an old tanktop that fit kind of snug.  Worked great, for as long as I needed it!
  • I used the BeBand from Target with my regular jeans until I was about 38 weeks. Yup. After that it was yoga pants for me but I *loved* the BeBand. I would pull the band on so the bottom of it was around the top of my butt/hips, pull on my jeans, then fold the BeBand down over my jeans. It worked great for me :)

I am so so so happy for you, Annie! It's wonderful to see you around the board again.

Oh that's a good money saving idea!

  • You know, maybe mine was too big, but I felt like it was always falling down.  I kind of went right from my regular pants to maternity pants somewhere near 18 weeks.  I did use the bella band for a couple of weeks, but it was too big then, so maybe I'd do the tank top suggestion to get you by?
  • I have the BeBand from Target as well and am not sure if I could live without that thing!  It's worked well with my regular pants unbuttoned but it's worked better for me switching over to maternity pants and using it to help hold those up since they're still big.  I wear it folded over and find that sometimes it will roll on me or that the back will work it's way up but still better than not having it.
  • For me, they didn't really work.  They always seemed to ride up when I was sitting.  I always felt like I was adjusting it.

Ditto.  In fact, I have a Size 1 I'd be willing to send to you if it will work for you.  I wouldn't use it again. It is white one with lace.

  • I had the version from Motherhood Maternity.  I actually did like it, but it rolled up constantly, which was a little annoying.  I wore it a lot after the delivery too, it made me feel better.  Smile
  • I wore mine for a couple of weeks, but like others said, it would roll up and become annoying.  Also, not having my pants buttoned made me feel, I dunno, strange.  Smile  It was a weird feeling for me, and I never got over it, lol.

I did the exact same thing....worked great for me and I even used it some after clark was born when I was still wearing the maternity jeans for comfort reasons :)

  • I've worn a BeBand since I was about 12-13 weeks along and never looked back.  I'm carrying kind of high, so my maternity pants slip down on my belly if I'm not wearing one.  I only have one pair of pants that are drawstring and I don't have to wear a band with them.  Or if I wear yoga pants I don't have to wear one.
