depends. are you planning to take him out on walks or sledding? then get the bunting one... me? I got both. we live in chicago and it's 30 here today so she's wearing her winter coat which is a thick sweater jacket with lining- warm enough to keep her warm but light enough for the carseat. i also got a bunting (for $8.50!!) in case we go for a walk or sledding or something- but i don't think those are safe in carseats.
We used a bundle me for DD's first winter, when she was still in the carrier. We dressed her appropriately for the weather, but didn't have to worry about a jacket/outer layer as much.
To me bunting makes more sense because you don't have to worry about pants bunching up and his legs getting cold. And the one you picked is really cute!
Wouldn't both a jacket and bunting have about the same effect in a carseat?
Do the measurements of that bunting cover T's height? Aaron wore a bunting a few times last year (hand-me-down) and it was great. But even his legs were just barely fitting in it (as Aaron was 90th percentile).
I went with the water repellent one, not b/c we plan to have Brenna outside for extended periods but the winters can get pretty bad here....and if its the heavy wet snow, you can get drenched just running from your house to the car. Plus DH insists that he goes to pull her around in the sled in our backyard! LOL
I have everything under the sun for Brenna...a fleece bunting suit w/o the attached gloves and booties, a full fleece bunting from carter (not lined though) and then a winter coat. The coat is cute BUT a PITA when I'm trying to get Brenna off to daycare....putting mittens on her is like wrestling a bear cub. I need something I can throw her in, zip and be out the door.
I think T is bigger than Brenna and the one I got only goes up to 12-18 months but the fleece one goes up to 18-24 months.
Hi Liz. LOL...nice to know Brenna will be nice and toasty this winter. Too bad the water repellent one doesn't come in a larger size. I would have loved that one. He could fit into a 12month but probably won't be able to wear it next year so the 18-24 fleece one will be good. Running off to buy the fleece one....

Based on a recommendation from a friend of mine with 3 kids, I got Ellie a fleece snowsuit and a heavier, mostly waterproof one since like Liz I live in Cleveland and we have icky winters. She has a fleece jacket too for milder weather. She recommended the snowsuits because they are safe in the carseats and they don't bunch up and everything leaving bits of baby exposed. I think the fleece in llbean - which she recommended, and the heavier one is Hanna Andersson. I got them both a bit large, and I got them both new with tags on eBay for about $30 total with shipping. And at Ellie's 12 month appt, our pedi also recommended the fleece snowsuit.

Is he still in the carrier, or a regular carseat?
