When would you test??

Hi ladies,

Right now im 9dpt and I was told by nurse on day11 of scan not to take a pg test until 18dpo if AF doesnt arrive....she warned me actually, i know this ? has been asked a million times but how long past can would you test???  Im due AF next wednesday the 8th, i know i should prob wait til it shows r not shows but.....thanks all Big Smile

    She "warned" you??  Wow.  Personally I try and wait until 14dpo when AF is due to arrive, so I guess it's not that much sooner, but an extra 4 days would probably drive me insane.  This month I failed the wait and tested at 11dpo but then AF showed up about an hour after I tested.  I kind of go by what the test I'm using says.  Mine says up to 6 days before a missed period, but that's only about 60% accurate at that point.

    I would wait until 14 dpo, but that's just me being a weinie :)

    Thanks so much ladies, at the begining i used to test early then i got used to BFNs and didnt bother testing at all but im soooooooooooooo tempted this cycle with the drugs!!!  I will wait for AF 14dpo (if i can hold out.....Tongue Tied) good luck to you ladies also, i hope one or more of us get a miracle xmas gift/surprise this year ((((((fingers tightly crossed))))))

    Karen, the issue is that the trigger is hcg, which is the same hormone the HPTs test for, so if you test too early you could get a false positive if the trigger is still in your system. I had my medications class this morning and the nurse told me to test no earlier than 15dpt because of this; they do the beta at 16 dpt (talk about torture!)

    I've read that the trigger can stay in your system for 10 days so I wouldn't test until at the very least 11 or 12 days after the trigger.  I've heard some ladies "test out" their trigger, meaning they poas shortly after the trigger and every day until the line goes away, then they test to see if the line comes back.  I didn't do that, I thought it might mess with my mind too much.  I just waited for the beta draw. I tried busying myself with different "treats" like shopping trips to keep my mind off things.

    I got my BFP with DD at 11 dpo. I would wait until AF is due to show and test then.
