I want one.
I'm 99.99% sure it's not in the budget, but if you have one...
Weekly? Bi-weekly? Monthly?
What do they do? (dust, do floors, etc?)
Use a service or an individual like off of CL?
If you don't mind sharing....about how much for how many hours?

Re: Anyone have a housekeeper?
I do and it is absolutely worth every penny, our house would never get cleaned if it wasn't for our house cleaner.
Husband and wife team, come every other week, dust, clean bathrooms and kitchen, vacuum, wash the floors, $100 each time.
I found them from a rec from a friend.
ETA: I don't know how long they are there, they come when we are at work.
It's not in my budget either but it's a must for my sanity.
Weekly? Bi-weekly? Monthly? Every other week. What do they do? (dust, do floors, etc?) She cleans the bathroom, kitchens, vacuums, cleans the wood floors, stainless steel, granite, everything basically. Changes my sheets, just all the cleaning. If I want something more, like the fridge I ask if she has time and leave a few extra dollars. Use a service or an individual like off of CL?I got a rec from a colleague and she was too busy so it was her cousin. She has been my housecleaner for almost 8 years. If you don't mind sharing....about how much for how many hours?
I pay $120 for my whole house (three bedrooms, two and half baths), with three adults living here and one baby. I found someone to do it for $80 and she was great too, but she couldn't come when I was home and I felt funny having the nanny and the housecleaner here when I am not home. Just seemed weird. Also I had some weird loyalty issue to my person. When she comes alone it takes about five hours I think, but often she brings a relative to help her.
Its not in our budget either but we can't live without it.
Weekly? Bi-weekly? Monthly? We used to do bi-weekly when i worked, but can only afford once a month now.
What do they do? (dust, do floors, etc?) everything but cleaning out the fridge/oven. They change all our sheets as well. There is nothing quite like coming home to a spotless house and clean sheets.
Use a service or an individual like off of CL? we use a individual, she has a group of women who work for her. I think they are all family, not sure. I found her through our realator.
If you don't mind sharing....about how much for how many hours? we pay $90 for about 2-3 hours depending on how long it takes.
does that seal the deal for you? ;-)
We do now, but I think we will stop at least while I'm out on leave.. they are annoying to have around when I'm home b/c they just talk and talk and talk.
Anyway, they come every other week, charge us $60 for a small, 3 bed/1 bath, 1100 sf house. They clean the bathroom and kitchen and clean the floors and vaccum the furniture and dust, etc. They stay for 2 hours and it is a husband and wife team
We got the rec from our previous landlords

All of this (bolded). But ours is a business that I found through Yelp- a woman who hires employees to help her because she does more than one home at a time... so sometimes the owner is cleaning my house, and sometimes it's her employees. Either way, it gets just as clean and for what it's worth, I LOVE her.
$100 for 1800 sq. feet, twice a month

We have one every three weeks.
He does everything in regards to cleaning - vacuums, scrubs the floors, cleans bathrooms and kitchen, dusts, cleans DD diaper container etc.
He was a referral from a friend.
We pay $150 every time he is here. I don't know how long he takes, I am at work when he comes. I guess it takes several hours to clean the entire house.
LOL, yes!!!
We have one who comes once a week.
It is not necessarily in the budget, but I give up a LOT for it. I can't even remember the last time I bought something for myself. I was seeing a therapist for PPD for a while and traded that in for the housekeeper. What does it say about me that the housekeeper makes me much happier and I feel way saner? Ha.
We pay $70 a week and they do a deep clean which includes the hardwood floors, kitchen, bathroom, dusting, vacuuming the area rugs, changing the sheets, etc. It takes them 2 hours. I haven't touched a toilet in months and I am a much better wife, mom and full time employee because of it.
I have a housekeeper/nanny. She comes daily for 4 hours a day M-F. She also helps with the baby. She also traveled on vacation with us to take care of him and my older daughter.
She does all the laundry and cleaning. She also loves to organize things, so she helps me with that.
We pay her 400 a week.
We just hired one a few months ago and it has seriously changed my life. I absolutely LOVE it. House is CLEAN once a week and no arguing btwn DH and I about cleaning. Definitely one 'problem' that money can solve. Ha!
Weekly,
She does pretty much everything. Kitchen, bathroom, vacuum, mops, dusts, etc... She fluffs our bed too. It's awesome. We missed our weekly bed fluffing when S didn't come last week because of the turkey holiday.
We go through a service but it's the same awesome lady who comes every week.
$55/3hrs - ~1000sq ft house. Would be more expensive per visit if we did it bimonthly etc..
