I was just wondering if anyone has ever had to move mid-pregnancy? Was it easy to get everything switched over to the new hospital and everything? I don't know for sure if we will be moving or not. We are waiting for DH to go through a med-reclass, then school, then moving so who knows if that will be before the baby comes or not. TIA

Re: PCS during pregnancy
one of our friends is stationed on a ship and his wife is PG. they pushed his transfer date back because she is PG. he was set to transfer in January and now they are leaving in june.
which by the way doesnt make any sense to me at all. i would much rather move PG than with a newborn. they are going from Jax, FL to Great Lakes, IL. thats a long drive for a newborn.
i have no idea how it works in other branches.
I moved at 32 weeks from Campbell to Hood. It wasn't bad at all I just took my records from the OB clinic at Campbell and once DH had in-processed I went to the OB clic at Hood. Since they had no opening (having a huge baby boom here) the referred me off base.
It was super easy however I wouldn't want to do it again so close to my due date. GL HTH

They aren't supposed to PCS pregnant couples......but my wife was like high-risk x2, so there was no way they were going to let us move. But we moved when they were 1.5mo! That went better than expected!
Not necessarily true. If you're healthy and not within about a month of delivery, they will PCS you. It's best to ask what the criteria is and if you know where you are moving to, see if you can arrange your transfer of care before you get there. You won't be in their TRICARE yet, but they can at least tell you what the outlook is before you arrive.

I am stationed overseas, so it might be a little different for me, also because I'm active duty myself, but the Army does not allow women to fly after 34 weeks, or before the baby is 6 weeks old. Our PCS got shifted due to DH's deployment, but even if they sent him home on time, we would go from a July move to an October move because we can't fly between then. I would think it would be similar for a mainland move though even if flying is not involved.
awoodruff27: Are you legally married? If so, there is absolutely no reason why your husband should be staying in the barracks and you aren't allowed to live with him. The military doesn't recognize you as a dependent until you are legally married. If you are and they are telling you that you aren't "supposed" to be there, you need to talk to someone else in the chain of command to get him started with BAH and BAS. If that doesn't work, talk to JAG or the Chaplain in his unit.
