Toddlers: 24 Months+

Need Christmas Ideas.

Hi ladies! I'm not on here yet but since ds will be 12 months shortly after Christmas, I'd like to kinda gear his Christmas gifts towards 12+ months if possible. The grandparents are already bugging me for ideas and I have none, other than clothes and a few misc. items.
Can you share what your 12+ month old enjoys and what "he" should be asking for?  I really don't want a lot but I have to give ideas or I'll just get junk that we don't need/want.

Thanks for your help and allowing me to just jump over and bug you for ideas :)

Re: Need Christmas Ideas.

  • At 12 mos my DD liked the Busy Ball Popper. She still likes it at 17 mos. She learned how to walk using a push/ride toy that looks like a lion. (I think it's Playskool, but I've seen it at all the stores) and now that she's older she rides it. At 12 mos, I started buying sippy/straw cups, so that could be a nice small gift. My DD has always really liked the touch/feel books, too. Good luck!

  • ditto pp: books are always good and my son loves the busy ball popper and he's 18 months old now. at 12 months he also enjoyed bubbles, blocks, and cars/trucks. someone got him these little soft trucks and cars that have faces painted on them...tonka brand maybe?
  • the busy ball popper, the laugh and learn: learning home, and the learning chair are all pretty popular with dd. She got them for her 1st birthday and plays with all 3 everyday.

Out of the 3, the house is the best!!

  • I have to second the FP Laugh & Learn Chair. DD loves hers so much that each set of GPs has one at their house now. She also really loves the FP Sound Stage, that was her big Santa gift from us last year (she was 10 mo) and she still plays with it. Board books are always great, as are soft interactive ones. And, of course, blocks.
  • I will second the Bubble Mower and the Toy Vacuum.  My 2-year old loves both.  We got the vacuum when he was about 12 months and it's always a fav.  Both of my boys think it actually works!  :o)  We bought a Bubble Mower this Spring and both are totally into it.

How about one of those big chairs from PotteryBarnKids?  Last Christmas their Grandma bought both boys a chair and they LOVE them.  B was only 16 months old when he got it and loved it from day one.

You might want to also start thinking 'potty chair'.  If you don't already have one.

  • - Anything he can walk around and push

    - We have the dinosaur ball thing that fisher price makes. I think the new version  is a musical animal thing that they put balls in.

    - I bought the Incrediblock on fisherprice.com last year and my 18 month old still likes it.
