Just had an effing heart attack...

I woke up, and looked down and there was blood all over my PJ pants and t-shirt. I couldn't even scream, I just stood there in horror.

Until finally logic wormed its way in and I realized most of the blood was sort of localized - and after checking in the mirror, it's all from the gnarliest Lovenox bruise ever. I fell asleep right after my shot, and I must have laid on it too soon after the injection. There was dried blood all over my belly, that clearly dripped down to my pants while I was sleeping.

Sheets and favorite PJ pants are ruined, but obviously I don't care, compared to what my first thought was.

I'm sitting here just shaking at this point. Not a nice start to the morning.

    I think I would have peed my pants! I'm glad it was just the shot. Still sucks, but like you said, much better than your first though.

    I'm sorry this happened, but so glad it has nothing to do with wedge. But your favorite PJ's may not be ruined. Peroxide will take out a dried blood stain.

    Sweet baby jebus I would've had a heart attack too! Glad that it's just the bruise. I would be taking an extra 15 minutes to relax this morning lol.

    If you do hit a vein (I clearly did), give yourself time for the bleeding to stop for good. It can stop and then start up again for a few minutes, so it pays off to just lay in bed with a tissue for fifteen minutes or so. I am usually so much smarter about that, and I ice it to be extra sure. I was just so tired last night, I wasn't careful.

    Ugh. I will not miss these injections one little bit come April.

    Oh you poor thing! I would have passed out.

    Early on, I cut myself (but didn't feel it) when I was shaving my bikini area. When I went to dry myself off down there, the towel came back with blood on it and I about died. Luckily I quickly located the cut.

    Oh my gosh!! That must have been horrible!! Definitely glad it was only from the lovenox, but that still sucks!! I hope the rest of your day gets better!!

    Whoa.  That IS scary.  SOOO glad it was just from the injection!!!

    FWIW, I've had a lot of success getting bloodstains out with just hot water, detergent, & a healthy dose of good ol' elbow grease.  (I've found that peroxide, while it's great at getting blood off of fur, tends to set in bloodstains on white coats.  Just my experience.)   ;)

    Good grief, what a morning!  I'm so glad everything is OK, but sorry your nerves had to be shot at like that.

    ((hugs)) I would have freaked out also. Glad you figured out it was just from the shot. Try soaking the sheets and pj's in oxyclean.

    yikes! I hate that you were so scared, but glad all is well.
    m/c#1 07/16/08 (11 weeks), m/c#2 10/10/08 (8 weeks). and then nothing since except every test possible (no answers). IUI#1 and #2: BFNs Super lucky to be buddies with Peetie. Our out of nowhere, surprise DD born 5/29/2011

    I can't even imagine how that must have felt.... I'm glad everything is ok though!

     oh, and fwiw, shampoo, cold water, and an old toothbrush works well getting blood stains out.  I used to get blood noses all the time and that usually does the trick.
