the one needed some work, but had a huge yard? Well, DH got a copy of the inspection report on it "just to see".
Three major red-flags:
1. Old electrical panel. DH said to replace this (if it's needed) would be like $5k.
2. Some lifting of tiles and leakage in the master bath and hallway bath. Who knows what's going on underneath and the probability of mold.
and the kicker (and DH's personal fave):
3. The master bath shower: It doesn't have a DRAIN! Just a hole that is not hooked up to any plumbing of any kind. Water just goes underneath somewhere. DH said there was a photo with the inspection report. You could see dirt below that hole.
okay, so those biggies plus the obvious things like it needs all new flooring and paint just to move in, just make it way too much of a problem. (Unless they were to knock like $20k+ off the price - way doubtful)
Damn. We actually hadn't been able to get that one off our minds. Because if it had been all minor - DH could totally do it, no problem. But it would need those 3 things, the paint, the floor, and then start things like expanding the kitchen and masterbedroom. It's just out of our league if we's like to live in it anytime in the next year or 2.
back to looking.
