Right now I am nursing 3x a day and DS has a bottle while I'm at work also.
I'm hoping that after his first birthday I can drop the bottle feeding so I don't have to pump and just get by with nursing him 3x a day (morning, after work, before bed) and whenever else he is hungry and I'm home (middle of the night, weekends, etc).
Just wondering if 3x a day works for anyone else....
Thanks ![]()
Re: BFers: Does anyone only nurse 3x a day?
This for me, although this week we are dropping the bedtime nurse.
It was right at 12 months when DS lost interest in the afternoon daycare bottle and I stopped pumping. If he is healthy weight and appetite for solids, I'd say he'll do just fine with the regular snack they have.
We nurse 3 times a day. Usually when DS naps ( two times) and then when he goes to sleep for the night.
He does wake up now once in the early morning to nurse which is when he hears the alarm go off for DH to get up and get ready for work then goes back to sleep within 5 minutes.
This is us too!
this. i love nursing and don't see myself dropping these last 2 sessions anytime soon. she does fine without if i have to work at night. i always bring her in bed with me in the morning to nurse and it gives me extra snooze/rest time!
I stopped pumping at work ~13 mos. DD latches on at bedtime, in the middle of the night, and in the morning. And at afternoon nap on weekends.
She takes cow's milk during the day at school.
By 13 mos, I was down to pumping once a day and only getting a few ounces. I didn't consider it worth it to continue lugging and cleaning all the pump crap anymore.
At first there were times where I would be full midday, but my body adjusted.
Now that I don't have to pump, we will continue BFing until DD self weans.
