A/C temp at night?

We presently sleep with the a/c set at 68 degrees. I am going to use common sense and figure that's too cold for a baby... What temperature do you guys set the air for at night???

Thanks!

Re: A/C temp at night?

  •  When he was a newborn I put him in a onesie and swaddled him. As he got older, I just put him in a long sleeve sleeper. I kept the temp at about 76 at night.

  • Well we keep it at 70 or 72. we put DD in her onesie and one of those sleeping sacks. never had a problem
  • We keep ours at 75 at night.  Kate is in pjs and a swaddle and the vent in her room is partially closed.  Noah sleeps in long pants and a tshirt.  We've never had a problem.  Oh how I wish we could put ours at 68!  We settle for the fan on high.
  • We keep our A/C at 70-71 at night. It's comfortable for all of us and she sleeps in those one piece sleep and play suits with the long sleeves and the booties. The pedi instructed me to get her use to the temp. that we are comfortable in and she will adjust.
  • We keep our a/c at 70 at night.  When she was tiny, Sophia would sleep in warm pj's and swaddled or a sleep sack.  Now, she just sleeps in pant pj's.
  • I have always kept the house at 76 at night, we have tile throughout the house so it actually feels colder than it really is.
  • we do 74 at night, but our house also feels colder cause of the tile. we partially closed the vent in Zoe's room so it wouldn't be so drafty. She sleeps in the heaviest long sleeved sleepers I could find from Cartes, they have terrycloth ones and fleece. I know her hands are cold in the morning, but her belly feels warm, so i'm not too worried.
  • We keep our a/c at 70 all night.  Alexis sleeps in long sleeve footie PJs - cotton.  When she was little I would swaddle her then I've always covered her in a blanket.  I just tuck it in the bottom of the crib.  Remember it's better to be too cold then too warm.  Little babies don't know how to regulate their temps so they will develop a fever if they're too warm, its the way they respond to being too warm.  I have always read that anywhere between 68-72 is good.  Also my monitor - the Angelcare digital has a temp reading for the room so I can always look and see how cold or warm it is.

  • oh great....one more thing for me to worry about!  i sleep with the AC colder than you do. and the baby will share my bedroom (i live in a fab one bedroom apartment). i cannot sleep in 70 degrees or higher! guess i'll have to get a winter coat for him to sleep in. lol.
  • She's got plenty of sleepers with arms, legs and feet and tons of blankets for swaddling so I think we'll be okay if we raise it just a few degrees. ;-)

I want her to be comfy, but I want us to be comfy too!

  • We have always kept the house at 72 or 73. When Sophia was newborn she slept in full, feetsie onesie pajamas, swaddled and then with another blanket over her. We made sure she was toasty. Also, until recently, I only had 2 slots of the vents in her room open. I did not like the idea of her being cold just because we were hot.
