So a few months ago my son saw "Dance Star Mickey" in the store and LOVED it. I considered buying it but we ended up buying him a great tool set and a riding tractor. He will love this. Today, Mickey was on TV as the "IT" toy. My son is asking for it now. Is it worth hunting it down at a marked up price or even paying $70 for? At 2 years old I wonder if he will even miss Mickey and/or play with it that much when he gets his other toys. I can't believe this Christmas craze is already hitting at 2 y/o for the perfect toy. I didn't start Christmas shopping as soon as i usually do b/c my son just had surgery Monday so that was on my mind. Wondering if the toy is worth it for a 2 y/o esp. since he will be getting two other big things I know he will love. What are your thoughts?
Praying this little one sticks!
Re: Toy- Is it Worth it?
IMHO less is more. Kids dont need a lot. I have a 5 year old niece who is stressing my SIL out b/c she wants everything and is used to getting everything she says that she likes. For us we get one big gift, some books and puzzles and stocking stuffers. Then the G'parents go crazy and we really appreciate that! I also think that for a lot of money, or a big gift, it should be something that will grow with the child, not be a fad. Save the $70 and do something fun as a family around the holidays.
And congrats on the pregnancy!!!
