C Section incision site infection?

Did anyone develop an infection on their C section incision? I am 9 days past C section, and all of a sudden the top area of the incision is getting red, hot, and swollen so much it is hard. I have a call in to OB but the secretary said she would get back to me sometime "this week." Just wondering what your experiences might have been. I only have a fever of 99 degrees, but I'm on Ibuprofen for pain. (Yes....I know the response from the OB is inexcusable, and I will call again tomorrow when the office opens....just thought I would ask on this board to see if anyone has had an experience with incision infection). Thanks.

    I got a very slight skin infection from one of my stiches getting irritated. I took an antibiotic (bf'ing safe) and it was fine. He also told me to use neosporean.

    I had a skin reaction to the tape, and got a yeast infection outside of that. I am on antibiotics and nystatin powder.

    Red, hot, swollen sounds like something you'd want to get checked out asap - maybe even worth an ER visit to get started on some antibiotics. GL!!!

    Yes, mine was under the Steri-strips. I realized it when I tried to take them off, and I couldn't because it was painful in one area. Is your incision draining at all? Mine was - I ended up going to urgent care and went on antibiotics. Please make sure you go to the doc ASAP if you suspect an infection!

    this is what happened to me too...minus the the antibiotics....

    If you really think its infected do not wait to have it checked out!!! Mine is still healing. Not infected but opened for a bleed.  You want to catch it ASAP!!!
